Month: September 2005

  • The weather here has been so gorgeous the last several days.  The most perfect kind of days, not too hot, virtually no wind (but not stale air either).  Perfect for the guys working on their houses.

It has been so beautiful that Steve was laying in the sunny backyard grass reading a book for a long time.  When he came in I asked him if he had finished it yet.  He said he didn't get much read at all cause Essie kept bringing her ball over and dropping it on his book.

Dr. Deb said they were previewing the commercial Sharalee is starring in Yesterday.  I told her we should would like to be able to have a copy.  She said Sharalee did great!!!Please remember to pray for Sharalee.  She has so much going on with three little kids three and under, plus trying to help Curtis on the house.  Tuesday she was painting the pump house with different colors trying to decide which is right so Curtis can paint the fascia before they roof goes on Today.  It was hard cause the kids were needing lots of attention.  Baby Isaiah cries a lot...with like pain... of the gas sort.  He is so sweet!  Sharalee is not eating dairy to see if that makes a difference.

Greg took Monday and Tuesday off to work at their house.... the plumbers were there, and the H-Vac people.  It is really looking different.  They got their fireplace and bathtubs.  It is kind of exciting.  Jen's hip is bothering her.  She says it only happens when she is pregnant.  But she is limping more than I have ever seen her limp.

Tom said he talked to another guy around his same age, who has been at Hanford for 20 years and he has already packed his stuff up so he is ready just in case he is one of the lay offs on Monday.  He just wants to be ready.  Tom said he has already gotten his stuff organized so that he can be out in only 10 minutes.  These guys..... it is kind of hard on them.  Tom was talking last night about going South to work for a couple of years saying it should be interesting.... and I am thinking,  the house.... and the kids.... oh well, we will do what we gotta do and do it with a "happy heart" as they say.

Has anyone seen the movie "The Four Feathers"?  It is pretty good.  It is about Honor and Courage and Cowardice and Love too!  A great guy movie and a good girl movie also.  It is one of those quality movies... like why haven't I heard much about it?  I take that back, why haven't I heard anything about it?

Yesterday, at Dr. Cole's it was a good productive day.  They spoiled me with pizza and presents and I liked it.

Well, I better "skedaddle" as someone in the family used to say!  Anyone remember who used to say that?  It is kind of a nice word... I like it!

  • This Saturday last, was the wedding of  Zach & Christy (Curtis' baby sister).  Zach is one of the Youth Pastor's at Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities.  Curtis, Sharalee, Joseph, & Carinna were all in the wedding.  Hopefully I will get more pictures to share with you all.

The reception was so much fun cause everyone was just dancing and acting crazy and it was fun.  Tom said, "I wonder what these people would be like if they were drinkers?"  I told Bobi (pastors wife) that, and she said, "We would all probably be mean!"

They had dance contests between guys and gals.  Mikey (remember him) did a solo dance, unplanned, to a Michael Jackson song and he was sooo good... Steve (our pastor), grabbed a hat off a young guy's head and put it on Mike's head and Mike kept on dancing.  Everyone was cheering and clapping.  At first everyone was dancing, then when Mike started, everyone gradually just moved aside into a big circle watching him just like in the movies.

Christy (the bride) was dancing with Joseph and they were so cute... Zach (the groom) was dancing with Carinna, then both of the kids.  Then Joseph said to Sharalee, "Mommy, you dance with me... and hold me?"  So sweet.  And Nathan (pastor's son), almost seven now, was dancing with his mommy.  The guys started doing some guy dance that is a tradition with the Lamberson men.  Father Lamberson started, then the young men, and then a whole bunch of other guys joined in... I wish you could see the dance.  It is kind of like apes marching around to drum music... very entertaining!!!!  Even girls joined in.

We came home tired and happy........

  • I miss my family!  Well, not the ones I live with... but the rest.  It seems like I don't get to see the others very much and when I do, it makes me want to see them even more.

We are in the midst of preparations for a marriage this weekend.  It is Curtis' sister who is getting married.  She is marrying one of the Youth Pastors at Calvary.  He is a fine young man... and they make an awesome couple.  The rehearsal dinner is here on Friday night.... for 40 people.  I am mostly helping with babysitting since Curtis, Sharalee, Joseph, & Carinna are all in the wedding.  I will be grandma sitting little Isaiah Thomas.

Also, we have been working on our other house.  The G Way house which has been vacated by it's former inhabitants.  We still need to paint the front door, and paint one very ugly bedroom.

We should hear about layoffs middle of October and Tom sent a resume in response to a call for help in Louisianna and there abouts.  It is his company, sort of... really a different leg of CH2M Hill than the Hanford site.  So the future is still.... uncertain.  But I hear the Lord's still small voice speaking and that is of great comfort.

I was just thinking about what a paradox it is, in a way... that the Lord, the Creator of the whole Universe speaks in "a still small voice".  One would think it would be a BIG LOUD BOOMING VOICE.  Maybe that is just in Hollywood!

Thad is on a motorcycle trip to Colorado for a Firemen's Memorial with a bunch of firefighters.  We are praying for him and for his family since they are home alone.  Jen asked us to pray and it is only natural anyway to pray for such an outing.

The houses are really coming along... plumbing, roofing, wiring!  All just around the corner or at the door.

Also, just heard yesterday that AMAZON.COM is moving here and will be in the old Walmart building.   (500-600 jobs eventually)  Just thought someone out there might find that interesting.

I embarrassed myself bad yesterday.  Ruthie was trying to reach the top file shelf to put a chart away and she was a little short to be able to easily do it, so I ran to her aid by wrapping my arms around her waist and lifting... then when that wasn't very successful, I offered her my hands as a step up.  We were laughing and having a good time, when I noticed there was a distinguished looking gentleman sitting there in the waiting room watching everything.  He was from the funeral home.  Full suit, tie and everything.  I had been so focusing on my paperwork prior to this, I didn't realize there was anyone there... we had no doctor and no patients!  I was grateful for the "free standing" bookcase that goes from floor to ceiling which was closeby because it gave me a place to hide out while I gained my composure.  The girls were teasing me about being red, white, and blue cause I was wearing blue and white... and then my skin turned red.  Well, anyway the man tried to use what he had seen to pressure me into making his need a priority.  His need was to get a death certificate filled out and signed by the doctor so they could go ahead and bury the guy.  I think it is one of those situations where you would have had to be there.
