Just a short note. A friend’s son, who happens to be an army ranger, stopped by today. It was very interesting listening to him. He has matured a lot since going into the military. He was sharing about the trouble with “us” as in the USA…. basically he was saying that we are too “nice” and don’t understand our enemy. I believe him. Wish I could share everything he shared. He isn’t at liberty to talk about many things. Maybe some day. Anyway, made me really want to pray, not only for him, but for our nation. God Bless America!

Wish I could have been there, too! Both to hear him and visit you!
I agree with comment No.1 on both counts.
Interesting comments. It’s a tough dilemma. I’ll say a brash statement that I personally think that much of the bad press that Christianity received through the middle ages was due to the Christendom attempting to respond to the rampant spread of Islam in kind. I won’t even say who was to blame but the fact that the Christian west was compelled or felt compelled to launch the Crusades has wound up being a black eye that we even today have to either defend or apologize for when representing Christianity to the rest of the world. Somehow, this entanglement with Islam during the dark ages didn’t go our way. Makes me think that in fighting certain enemies, it’s really hard to win both physically and morally at the same time. The deck is stacked against us. Some wheat and chaff won’t be separated until the last day.
