  • So ok.. Tom gets a call for the strong possibility of a job in Bremerton… the guy needs his resume updated and sent over asap.  We weren’t home, so Tom says he will get it to him in a little while as soon as we get home.

We get home… new harddrive on laptop, start it up, asks you to click on user name… problem is, there is NO USER name of any kind to click on.  Do CTRL ALT & Delete and get a box with “owner” as the username and blank password.  Try it.. w/o success.  The pressure is on.  Call Microsoft asking if there is a default password we can use.  The guy with an accent says, Microsoft has a policy of not re-setting passwords, but to do a search with a certain number and should find help.  The site gave instructions but, when you did A,… B was suppossed to happen and then… you go from there.  BUT “B” didn’t happen, C happened… no instructions for “C”.

SO… I reformatted the hard drive and started over this time babysitting the whole operation.  It only took 38 minutes to load the operating system, then it was time to start loading the software etc.  The pressure was so great… you know, it is very easy to miss something really simple.  The ms office pro xp we had was an update and so it is asking for some sign that we are entitled to use the upgrade… well, not long ago, I got rid of a whole box of software that was not being used.  Oh NO!!!  Well, it wasn’t until I removed myself from the situation and got really quiet, that I remembered where one of original CD’s were…. like it was put AWAY!!!  Long story short… got it done, got the old hard drive stuff loaded, e-mail set up, new updated resume attached and sent… only to have it returned with the dumb “relay denied look-up failure” message.  So transferred everything to my computer and sent it through my yahoo address.  FINALLY success!!!

While all this was going on, the phone rang.  Thought it was a sales person, but in fact it was a lady from Florida who is doing some training at a local hospital for two weeks.  She had tuned into the radio station KBLD 91.7FM, BOLD RADIO, heard Pastor Steve and so went to the website, found our phone number as the contact for women’s studies/fellowships etc… and she wanted to come out for the Ladies study (Excellent Wives) taking place that very night.  So I drove to her hotel, she came out got in and we drove back to the house where the meeting was already in progress.  It was very exciting getting to meet a total stranger from a distant state, who was craving fellowship.  She said, the Lord had convicted her of the need to be in fellowship often.  She travels a lot so isn’t available to attend her home church much…. Guess God said, “no excuse,  My people are everywhere… go do it!”  (My total paraphrase.)  She is planning on being there tonight and on Sunday too!  PS  Her hubby of 5 years is in the Military.

I am supposed to work just about full time next week at the doctor’s office.  We will see, things change around there a lot.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone!

  • I had a similar issue with my recent reload of my laptop.  After I reloaded from the restore disks I discovered the bios had a password that could not be overridden.  I had to send the thing to Acer to have the password removed.

  • And I wanted add.  Bremerton is one of the nicest towns on the wet side of Washington.  It is encouraging that the job situation is actually pretty good.  I’ve got people calling me.  I’m thinking WHERE WERE THEY TWO YEARS AGO!

  • Does Tom know about the job yet?
