Month: August 2006

  •    Yesterday we ended up at Wendy's after church and guess who showed up a little while later?  Curtis & Sharalee & kids!   I was holding Isaiah and Joseph was sort of running around the condiment bar.  When he would get to Isaiah and me, I would say "boo" and Isaiah  and Joseph would laugh.  Well I crouched down in a stoop and leaned against the condiment bar.  What I didn't realize is that it was on wheels.  It moved and landed me on my toosh on the floor, laughing.    What amazed me was all the looks of disapproval from the other patrons.    I guess it isn't socially acceptable for a grandmother to play with her grandsons in Wendys if she moves the condiment bar and falls on the floor.  But you know what?  This is what amazed me.... I didn't care what they all thought!!!!!!!!     It sort of made me laugh all the more.     PS  We weren't making much noise.  At least I don't think we were.    Is this my 2nd childhood?

  • A fish with Attitude

Saw this fish, among many, in Spokane... I liked this one and if we had a pond big enough... I would have been real tempted to bring it home with us.

  • Theodore Matthew Frater

We are off to Spokane for another birthday celebration.  Last night was Ryan's party... pictures when I have more time.  Then today it is Thad's birthday.  Will catch you all up on everything when I get back.  BTW - Did you check out the video dump truck and Noah's Self Defense video links on yesterdays blog?  Let me know what you think.  Enjoy your Saturday!

  • Dump Truck Ramp

Finally, I was able to load this video clip.  It was so amazing seeing this as I thought it was gonna dump out of the side, thus I was standing in the front to video....... then I had to quickly move to the side and back up.  This is mint dregs.  It has been steamed and the oil removed before arriving here.

  • Thursday & Good NEWS

I could do like so many programs and dangle the "it's coming" bait while I go on about various and assorted other not so interesting things......... BUT... I have already done that sort of thing by going on like this about nothing much so let's get to the good news right after this break......

Stop it!!!  I am just having some fun.  Amusing myself with Tom foolery.... Funny you should mention Tom.... because that is what the good news is all about.  THE STONE IS GONE.  It isn't gone gone... it is just in a cup with several other stones from a few years back.  What is it about these guys and their stones anyway?  One of the doctors told us of a fellow who had a really huge one that had to be removed and he wears it on a chain around his neck!  Specifics:  It was late last night (around 9 or 10PM) when it surfaced without any pain all on its own.

Well, now that the BIG STORY is over I guess I better get ready for work.  We get lunch from the Stone Soup today.  They make really good sandwiches.    Pictures later... maybe

  • It's Officially Hump Day (The absolute middle of the week)

I guess that means it is downhill from here.    Or maybe it just means that things get easier from here on out for the rest of the week.

Reading Romans:  One of my favorites!   I like realizing I have already made my decision to follow Christ.  Being rather indecisive, it is comforting to just live in the decision I have already made.  It is a done deal.  There is no decision to be made, for me, when it comes to following Christ no matter where He leads me I will follow.  What comfort!!!  What security!!!   It doesn't matter how I feel about something.... I will follow.  It is already decided.  How 'bout you?

Today I went up to get the three Dunbar kids.  We played inside and outside, ate lunch outside, played some more... then went for a cartoon and rest.  Sharalee got her kitchen stuff put away.  Here is another picture from the weekend....

  • The Stone Has Rolled Away

...or so it seems anyway.  Canceled stone removal procedure today as there has been no more symptoms nor any pain since that little operation was scheduled.  The urologist is out of town all next week, so we are praying this is the end of it.

Girls here tonight for "excellent wife" study.  They are talking about modesty tonight.

I worked today.  It was a good day.
