Month: September 2006

  •   Here are the pictures I promised.  These pictures were from yesterday on an outing with the St Hilaires.  We had dinner, then drove around looking at property... We went to BoneFish Grill and ate Bang, Bang Shrimp. Shar & I laughed until it hurt.      The men told us to grow-up!!!  We weren't getting enough air so we opened the sliders while we were riding around.  That was fun!!!   First Tom stopped fast so the doors would zoom shut.  Then we opened them again, all the while laughing.   So then Tom stopped the van and refused to go on until we closed our back slider doors.  It was like being a kid, only our husbands were our dads!  At least neither of us got a spankin' when we got home.

And now, it's off to the doctor's office for me today.

  • Mom Turns One Year Older Today

Mom is having a quiet birthday.  Dad is taking her out to Ivars down by the water for dinner.  She is happy.

Steve made some comments yesterday which I rather liked.  So I wrote them down.  He said, "If you make it to Heaven, it is all God's fault!" and he said, "If you make it to Hell, it is all your fault!"    He also said, "Everyone is religious! Even athiests are religious!"  "Your "god" is whatever gets you going; what motivates you."  There, of course, was a lot more than these statements, but it was one of his really good ones.   It reminded me of that old Bob Dylan song that says... Everybodies gotta serve somebody, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord, but we're all gonna serve somebody.

Will have some new pictures up here soon.  Hope you all are enjoy'in your Holiday!!!

  •    Today we got invited out to look at farm land with Jim St Hilaire.  Here are some of the things we saw.  (The first picture is a little blurry as we were driving when I snapped it.)

    Road Closed Sign

The Road we needed to take was closed due to a landslide.

    Landslide  Landslide from afar

You can see the cliff left by the landslide.  It totally covered the road.  A lady we talked to said her mom was driving on that road and was in that very spot about 10 minutes before it let go.  She said a man who lives in the house on one side heard the people on the other side screaming  but didn't know if they were under the falling dirt or what.  Fortunately they weren't.  No one was injured.

Horse pic 1  Horse Pic 2

We were standing on a wooden deck behind a farm house and these horses were just right beside us.  It was very beautiful there.

     Farm Property  Farm View

This was the view out back of the farm house.  There was an orchard.  Mostly apples.  You can also see the smokey haze in the sky from the fires over in the Dayton, WA area.

Sunset from 395 over Col River   Sunset in W Richland

Coming home, the sun was setting. In the pic on the left, the Columbia River is visible & the pic on the right is close to home.

  •  Good Morning and Happy beginning of Labor Day Weekend!!!

Worked all day yesterday.  I was so busy, but everyone was so kind and loving.  I very much appreciated all the love.  It was a new job for me, same office.

Then last night Sharalee & Curtis started a Dave Ramsey class at church so we babysat.  I did get a couple of pictures to share with you.  See Below:  PS  Greg & Jen are attending also, but they had soccer practice last night and they are already familiar with Dave.

Isaiah Finds Himself a Donut    Dunbar Kids in bkyard018

Isaiah found a 3 day old donut in the package & helped himself.  He actually made it look good!  Being the generous guy he is, he  held it out to share with Essie.

On a sad note:  Today they are closing down Tom's company, Parsons, at noon so everyone can go to the funeral of a young woman who was shot and killed by her husband before he shot and killed himself.  They were in the process of getting a divorce.  They had two children 8 and 11.  Also her male friend from Parson's was shot, but not killed in the incident.    It is so tragic for the children to lose so much this way.  Tom has asked me to join him for lunch and a funeral.  Love you guys... keep writing!!!
