  • 'Lots of Pictures' Day

    Yesterday... what went on here....

These first three pictures are taken yesterday afternoon, while having a nice hard rain.  Tom & Joel are removing the old KBLD sign on the church property where we will soon be building a new church to meet our growing needs.  It was in bad need of repair so we decided to take down the sign and erect a new building!    Jeff Brown's idea!

And these pictures are from yesterday evening.  This is what happens here weather wise: Clouds - Rain - Clouds all gone - Today Sun!    It makes for gorgeous skies, which most of you know, I have a great affection for beautiful skies.... clouds.... moon & stars.

Here are two pictures of the signs I did for the office.  Esprit Graphics printed it and made it look good.  Thanks Mike!

  • To Pastor John Cowan

Thanks, Pastor John, for the blessing of a friend. Here is what she sent me after reading the blog and listening to the old recording you sent.

......"Well I just listened to the song, and have spent the last 5 minutes sobbing.  It just took me back to them, college and after college fellowship days, when Jesus was fresh and new in my life. I can see them singing it, and remember the awsome guitar work, and the innocence of a simple walk with the Lord, the uncomplicated ness of life at that age, etc.".....

Thanks, Lord, for making Pastor John a blessing too!  And thanks friends for sharing your blessings with me!

Another play practice today... it is really more like a skit than a play.  Good for beginners.  I am thinking of adding an accent to my character's voice.  Should I just surprise them today and just use my accented voice, or should I say something????  Not sure.

Have a awesome Sunday with the Lord and those earthlings you love!

  • Here is the Scoop on Michael Angelo Song!  In a Nut Shell (as they say)

A friend, Lisa, read the blog and called me to say she thought the guy who did that song, sang at her wedding.  So she e-mailed.  As it turned out it wasn't him, but he knew who had written the song and so with a link to a webpage..... I e-mailed and this is what I got back:

    Kathy,

What a surprise!  Yes, I wrote the song. I've enclosed an MP3 of a simple recording of it I did with my wife, Laura, many years ago. Where do you live?  You may have heard it from a recording by Lydell Feist who did it on one of his albums in the 70s-80s. He lives in the Midwest I believe.

    blessings,

    Pastor John Cowan

    Calvary Chapel - Sacramento

This is what he sent me.

Click once on the little arrow, lower left corner to activate and click again to play.  Just not too fast..

The next one is what I copied off the radio in 1979 by Lydell Feist.  It is the only one I ever heard until yesterday.  PS  Found patch cord for dvr!

I felt so excited and grateful.  Thanks Lord and thanks to you all too!  There is one LP of Lydell Feist on E-Bay.  I might have to splurge on that and then work on converting my records to CDs... I have several boxes.  FUN!

  •    Well, I got a lead on the Michael Angelo song.  I have sent an email and when I hear back I will tell all right here.  I was going to put the clip right on here, but I have misplaced my patch cord for my DVR (digital voice recorder).  I just realized DVR also stands for digital 'video' recorder.

Rehearsal was fun.  I am working on memorizing my lines.  The difficult part for me is I automatically add words to my lines and even more difficult than that is the fact that my voice doesn't carry very well, and if I work hard to project it or talk louder, I have a hard time getting the inflection in my voice to express the emotions of the lines I am quoting.  Does that make sense?  I do get to wear a lapel mic but if everyone else projects their voices and I sound like a screaming mouse, how well will that be?  Another thing is, I feel sort of silly and keep thinking of funny things, which makes it hard not to break out laughing or giggling.  I need the fruit of the spirit... self control!!!!

Today is a work day at the medical office.  I get to do graphic printing jobs too for the office sometimes.  They have offered to do some procedures on my face in exchange for my helping out.  Like permanent makeup????  How would it be to wake up every morning with my eyeliner and lipstick firmly in place with no flakes or smears???  I wonder......... not sure if I will take them up on it, but it sounds nice for my older years when I am more shaky and can't see very well,  It is just that it is permanent... and what if fashion changes to bland eyelids?  What's a girl to do?

Uncle Tom took me out for a quick bite at a fast food place (BK) and then he drove a couple blocks to the river for our eating atmospheric pleasure and this is what we saw.

This was right in front of us.  I think he wondered why I was taking his picture.

  •    Today is a work away from home day!  Connie came this AM for a time of prayer and share.  Tonight I go for rehearsal.    SURPRISE... yes, it is true, I am branching out into acting.  At least I am going to try it.  Will let you know how it goes.

I keep hearing the Spirit saying, "humble yourself, get low".  And the song with words that say, "Lord, reduce me to love" keep coming back to me.  I just can't remember which song that came from.... but maybe it is "Love Song" from the 70's.  Anybody remember?

And while on the song subject.... does anyone remember a song with words like this, "Michael Angelo does it hurt for you to know, that the God you painted, well, He first painted you...." and some more of the words are, "for the gospel is proclaimed in creation, yes, the gospel is proclaimed in creation......" ?  I can't remember who sings it or what the name is, but I can hear it from a little clip on my recorder from the radio station KIAM in Wenatchee, WA in 1979/1980 as well as playing in my head.     Any help appreciated.

  •    Joel's Birthday was today.  We went out to dinner with his folks and then over to their house for cake.  It was a very, very delightful time had by all... well except maybe Joel!     I took some pictures but it is too late to put them on here tonight.... so here's a couple from our last trip over the mountains week before last.

  •    This AM got back in bed after Tom left and fell fast asleep.  I never do that... well, I do sometimes crawl back in bed, but I never fall asleep.  It was nice.  Joel messing around in the kitchen is what awoke me 2 hours later.  Now it is get ready for work time, shower time.  Ruthie is coming over later in the afternoon or evening, whenever I get finished working at work.

Church last night ended up being mostly about forgiveness and getting forgiveness.  One fellow shared that the Lord put it on his heart to seek forgiveness from a fellow who lived in California and he lived here in Washington.  So he asked the Lord to work it out, and the next day the fellow called him and was only 30 miles from here.  The Lord has done so many things like that for me too!  It is refreshing how the Lord makes entrances to the "narrow road" when one sets ones heart to walk that way.

Will write more later.........  love you all

  •    A couple pictures from a friend, Jim Pruett, from Colorado.  He took these on an outing last weekend.

He has a bunch more.  And perhaps some big news coming soon.

    Isn't the Creator GREAT?

Is anyone else ready for Daylight Savings Time to end?

  •   Tom left early this morning for work.  He woke up early and is extra busy at work so he decided to go on in... whereas I wanted to sleep more, but now I am up, latte's are made.... waiting for Connie @ 7AM for share and pray with latte's time.  Ok... now on to........

    The Worm

Here is a very cute little worm walking across Bobi's hands at the NWPC last week.  We were thinking it would be fun to know what he was thinking.    Do worms think?  They surely must think.  They probably think in worm though.

Took Isaiah for about 3 hours yesterday and we just played.  It was so much fun.  I think that is what I need to do; take one kid for a couple hours and just play with them.  Hopefully it helped Sharalee out a little too.

In the morning I went in to work for awhile.  It isn't one of my normal days to work, but I had brought some work home and needed to get it back to the office early.  Today is a normal work day for me.  Enough!
