  • Just had to add this:  Study Finds Human Sense of Smell Unexpectedly Powerful - A new study published in Nature magazine found that humans have the capacity to track scents much like dogs, but are simply out of practice at smelling. Researchers set up a 10m-long scent trail of chocolate essential oil in a grass field and found that two-thirds of the 32 study participants were able to follow the trail using their noses alone. The team also discovered that having two nostrils vastly improved mammals' ability to identify smells.  More on the subject...

    PRACTICE your smelling skills.............. P R A C T I C E you people!!!

     December 14, 1799

He caught a chill riding horseback several hours in the snow while inspecting his Mount Vernon farm.

The next morning it developed into acute laryngitis and the doctors were called in. Their response was to bleed him heavily four times, a process of cutting one's arm to let the "bad blood" out. They also had him gargle with a mixture of molasses, vinegar and butter.

Despite their best efforts, the doctors could not save former President George Washington and he died this day, DECEMBER 14, 1799, at the age of sixty-seven.

After saying "Doctor, I die hard, but I am not afraid to go" and "I should have been glad, had it pleased God, to die a little easier, but I doubt not it is for my good," George Washington, at about 11pm, uttered his last words: "Father of mercies, take me unto thyself."

On Washington's tomb at Mount Vernon is engraved: "I am the Resurrection and the Life; sayeth the Lord. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die."  (from American Minute with Bill Federer)

Just thought you would want to know!

  •    Yesterday was a mile high pile of work, at the office, which I only climbed about half way up and worked my way down.  So today I am planning to attack the other half mile pile.   (You see if I put it in these terms I sort of get the feeling I am out in the wilderness hiking!)

I have loaded Joel's video of the play about 6 times now and it just keeps giving me an error message.  It doesn't make sense to me why some load and play awesomely and some won't.  I have written xanga 3 times requesting help since I am a paying customer, but as of yet I still have never heard anything back from them.  So I will do what I can do and that will have to do!

       Am loving my new CD!

  • Connie came this morning.  We had a fun time sharing.  She is coming back on Friday morning to help me decorate.  She is good at that, and I am not!  What a precious gift!  I just have to go get the goodies out of the metal building up at Greg & Jen's.  Hopefully I can find the stuff without too much looking.  Uncle Tom always labels stuff.  He is so organized,  unlike me!  I am so glad I have him.

  • This is an interesting dance.

Received two new Lost Dogs CD's.  One is an instrumental... very smooth, and very good.

  • Laura being at the play was the surprise for Joel.  The surprise for Laura was that Joel was in the play.   When we left they were still talking with each other.  They dated a couple years ago and there is still some "like" there.  Joel went out both nights after the play, ate, and hung out with the singles.  It was good.
