  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!!!

First, on the right, a picture of Jeffrey a few years back.... when, I now learn, he was trying to start a new hat fad:  Jeff Frater in Fedora 1980's

Now, a little bit of the Play, "SnapShots & Portraits:  This father awaken at 2AM by police calling for him to come get his son, who was picked up for drinking and driving.  He is very distressed after losing his wife earlier in the year, plus he has had a falling out with his brother for giving the son the car to drive resulting in this police station encounter.... The scene is the police station where he is waiting to take his son home.  A homeless bag lady comes in, sits by him, he moves over, she starts offering him things, The Four Spiritual Laws, he says he already knows those... a budda track, he refuses, another, he refuses, then she pulls out the "D" section of an encyclopedia, he refuses, next she tries a car radio and see for yourself what happens ..........

  • A quick run down on the day & last night:

Worked in the afternoon yesterday at doctor's office, came home, threw on some Campbell's Tomato soup, threw some Chicken Salad on a crescent roll, cut it in half and got some Ritz crackers out.... Tom and I ate as quickly as possible, but just before the last bites.... here came Curtis & Sharalee plus kids.  Uncle Tom went with Curtis & Sharalee to their Dave Ramsey class, and the kids stayed with me.  Three kids these ages are not a one grandma job.  I was running the whole time.  It was really fun watching Carinna & Isaiah play ball in the kitchen.  Isaiah (1.5 y/o) claimed up to the cabinet and helped himself to a muffin.  I was helping Carinna at the time, when I looked he had eaten a couple of big bites right out of the top of the muffin.  Joseph (4 y/o) has decided when he grows up he is going to change his name.  He is gonna change it to something like "Curtis".  Cause he doesn't like the name Joseph for a grown-up.

This morning, Sharalee has a blood test at the birthing center, so I am gonna have the kids for a short time again.  Then the work really starts.  Tonight is the play that we are attending.  We ended up with a front table.  It is a "DESSERT THEATRE".  I am making dinner for six of us before we go.  It is an experiment.  I am making a chicken, curry, coconut rice dish.  It looks good, sounds good.... but the test will be on my guinea pigs, our guests.    They are so sweet to let me test this on them!

PS  Joel has a surprise tonight at the play... sure hope he doesn't forget his lines when he gets surprised.  I will report back to you on this one!

  • Good Morning Everybody!  It is once again the middle of the week and I thought I better catch up on a couple of things... this being one.  Here is some video of Tom's birthday dinner at OG.  What happened was that Shar thought she would spray her hubby with some water using her straw.  Well, he resisted and so she naturally was pushed away, and the next thing we all knew Joel, sitting across the table, had a face full of water.  I could not see it, but was told the look on his face was priceless.  These kinds of friends make you feel like you are hanging out with kids in old peoples bodies!

(this one wouldn't work, so I put the next one in instead)

I think we could all use a little more "kid" expressions.  The next one is just a little more of the moment captured.

PS  No one had, had anything to drink, except water with lemon.  These people act this way naturally or possibly supernaturally.

  • TOM's B-Day Celebration (Saturday Night)

    toms b-day card st hilaires

We went out to dinner with Jim & Shar, came back to the house, watched a movie, then ate ice cream pie.  It was very delicious.

On Saturday morning, we attended the furneral of our neighbor.  It was a big service.  There was a gospel southern male group that Alfred Vern had been a part of at one time that were very enjoyable.  Also, "Alvern", as he was affectionately called by family, had requested bagpipes play at his memorial service... (dejavu Josiah & Jessie).  It was sad & enjoyable too!  The pastor said Al's thyroid quit working and they didn't know it at first.  He also said one can only live 40 days without a thyroid.  I didn't know this.

Well, I have more pictures and a video of Saturday night which I will include a little later, plus some words about the play and Joel, and another water fight.

But for now... I must prepare to go off to work where mountains of undone stuff await my arrival... It is frosty and cold and foggy here... I can't wait for Spring!

  •    Does anyone else feel they are in a race and the track keeps moving backwards, while the clock speeds up?  Programs printed and folded and delivered by 3pm.  That is my goal.   May you all have an awesome God filled day.
