  • Thanks for sharing.  That is really a great favorite.  I think I need to get it onto my Ipod!

I had the great pleasure of meeting Mr. McGuire a couple of months ago.  And getting a great big hug.  What great sweet gentle and manly man.  He’s the kind of guy you’d like to just hang around with a long time.   He was celebrating his seventieth birthday that very evening.  Then later as he was signing a couple of CDs for me, I told him I recalled seeing him in one of my favorite movies, “The President’s Analyst”. He grinned real big and we chatted about that for a few minutes.  “It was a strange film, in his words, “ahead of its time” .  Barry, in his BC era, played the leader of a group of hippies who were acting as a refuge of the main character of the story, James Coburn (the preseident’s analyst) who was being stalked by every espionage ring in the world because of the secrets he’s heard.  Barry’s latest endeavor is a reunion of the New Christy Minstrels.

  • That’s right…I remember you getting to meet him.  We saw him in live concert about 20 years ago when he was in town.  I purchased Barry’s re-release of “To The Bride” just this morning.  Kind of spendy, but he is someone I really want to support.

  • Wow…I didn’t know Barry had recorded anything since Eve of Destruction and his days touring with Second Chapter of Acts
