Month: March 2007

  • Yesterday... seems so far away.......

Yesterday:  well, hard work and good intentions is not working.  At least not this time.  I have uploaded a couple video clips (the same kind as always) over a dozen times.... but to no avail it would seem.. it always produces an "error when transcoding".  One that I wanted to share with you all was the G Sons working out in the yard to earn some $$'s.  Pretty cool stuff!!!  Maybe I will be forced to go to YouTube again and transfer to here... dawg gone!!!!!

Today, Uncle Paul and Auntie Caryn are coming and then tonight... Jeff & Connie & four boys (Andrew is bringing two teen friends) as they head to CA for Spring Break.    Ok, it is time for me to change sheets and figure out where to bed down those teenage boys.

PS  Joel is still sleeping (it is his day off) and it is now five minutes after nine.  Gosh!!!!

EDIT or UPDATE:  Joel & Steve just left for Breakfast and here is one of the video's... yeah!!!  It finally uploaded successfully.  This was yesterday when the kids were working together out in the front yard.

  • No Good Excuses........

I am off work at doctor's office for now and... my husband got the second largest raise of his entire working career today.

We went to dinner with some friends friday night and then to a party at the bosses house.  It was fun.  Here is a video clip of a fellow we met outside of the Olive Garden restaurant.  He was holding the door for my friend and they started talking..did his trick, then he pulled a quarter out of my ear.

Below is a picture of Greg & Jen's after some of the excavating... it looks even better now.  Paving to follow.

Greg & Jen's after some excavating

The next one is the neighbor's house which is for sale. (remember the guy who died @ 55) This is the back side, on 2.5 acres with a shop & fruit orchard.

Out front side yard over the weekend, couple of males fighting.

  • Friday............. Yeepee!  We have an early dinner out with friends.  The kids went to a Newsboys concert last night.  Haven't heard anything about it yet.

The guys putting in the pipeline of which you have surely seen and heard about, moved a ton of dirt for Gregory instead of him having to rent a big bull dozer & possibly a dump truck and move it himself all weekend.  He is paying them about the same as it would have cost him to rent the equipment.  Anyway, they were going so fast with two big bulldozers.  It is really starting to look extra nice up there.  The neighbor's house (the one ralatively young man. 55 y/o, who died a few months ago is now up for sale.  It has five acres (2.5 acres of which can be sold separately) with it.  Maybe we should look at it.

Well, it is off to spend some quality time with my Lord.... a gorgeous day and my latte!  Maybe some pictures tomorrow.

  • What was going on outside around here yesterday... and well again today too!

When the pipeline is all finished, the road out front and our driveway should become paved.

Here is a video at the motel pool & hot tub in Seattle.  It was kind of crowded there at times.  The tall guy is Chris Sanders.  He and Tiffany joined us.

These were taken out front of the house two weeks ago today!  I just can't get enough of those skies.

On the left is a mossed tree I snapped a picture of as we were leaving Seattle on Sunday.  On the Right is my ER room from last week.  It is about 4:45AM by this time.  Uncle Tom is behind the newspaper.  What an adventure!!!!  It is very nice to be well!

  • We are back........  [Today I begin training the new girl at the office, the one who is replacing me]

First of all, "Thank you" to all my children (who aren't children any longer) natural born, and married in family born!  You have made your mom & dad proud once again.  You are a witness to the faithfulness of our Creator.   He is worthy of all trust and honor!

The Memorial service was not very sad at all.  It was because of my aunt Dodie's life and her wishes.  Basically she wished love and joy.  She was a grand lady and it showed even in the very end.  I am so thankful we will see her again someday, hopefully soon!  And Uncle Tony is a riot!!!

There are pictures to be shown:  (will try to give commentary later... gotta go for now)

to celebrate my Aunt Dodie's life.  Here is one thing she sent me September 2007 that I really love.

Attention all dogs:  Instructions for properly hugging a baby

    1.  First, spy a baby.
      image001.jpg

    2.  Second, be sure that the object you spied was indeed a baby by employing classic sniffing techniques. If you smell baby powder and the wonderful aroma of wet diapers this is indeed a baby.

    image002.jpg

    3.  Next you will need to flatten the baby before actually beginning the hugging process. **Note: The added slobber should help in future steps by making the ”paw slide" easier.

    image003.jpg

     4.  The "paw slide" - Simply slide paws around baby and  prepare for possible  close-up.

    image004.jpg

    5.  Finally, if a camera is present, you will need to execute the difficult and patented "hug, smile, and lean" so as to achieve the best photo quality.

     image005.jpg

Dogs, if this is properly done, it will secure you a warm,  dry,  climate-controlled environment for the rest of your  life. Good luck to all of you!

  • I am so sick.  I feel so icky.  But other than that, things are good.  Some bug I have been wrestling has put me on the mat.  I can't be sick, I have too much to do right now and I really, really don't want the kids to get it.  I think UncleTom and Joel are already having the first symptoms that I had... headache off & on & sore throat at night & trouble sleeping.  Then it goes into full blown sore throat & ears like I have never experienced before.  I understand it lasts about two weeks.  I am at end of week one.

I had to go to Costco for a few things after work and guess what happened?  I was lifting my two gallon box of milk into the cart, when the cardboard handle tore out causing both gallons to fall hard to the floor.  A whole gallon of milk lug, lug, lugged out onto the floor, while I stood their trying not to cry over spilled milk.  The only thing I could think of to do was to call the pharmacy number which is in my memory from work to ask for HELP!!!!!  It did not get into my shoes like the olive oil incident though.

In tribute to my dear Auntie who left us yesterday for her heavenly home:  Thanks goes to Aunt Dodie for all the fun times we had.  Thank you for being such a swell Aunt.  I remember being a young girl and us laughing so hard it hurt as we pretended we had eyes on the end of our little fingers.  I remember singing songs together and just hanging out.  I know you are hugging Dawn and enjoying any other family and friends who have preceded you in your new life.  Thanks for even doing a xanga site.  What a trooper you have been!  I am sure you are rejoicing in the presence of our Lord, but we will miss you down here. http://www.xanga.com/Dodieorl

  • NEW BABY ARRIVES UNEXPECTEDLY...

It happened this afternoon a little after 2 PM.  I received a phone call from Sharalee saying she wasn't feeling real good so Curtis was taking her into the center to be checked.  About 2 hours later Curtis called and said it was done!  I said, "it's done?" and he went on to explain that Sharalee was dilated to 8 when they got there and she had about three contractions and decided to push and out came the baby.  Sharalee's version is slightly different.  They had time to get in the tub of water and it really hurt.  So here are the pictures.  Baby is just 2.5 hours old in first ones at birthing center and 4 hours back at home with the other kids seeing baby for first time.

About 4.5 hours after going to appointment for check-up and coming home with a new baby.  (due date 3/26/2007)  I asked Sharalee to have the baby on a Friday if she wasn't going to wait until her due date.  She is soooo obedient!

  • Just A Moment........

....to write a little bit.  It has happened, I was off for several weeks after I quit and.... now I am back at work again full time for a couple weeks, or several weeks.  And according to the doctor's husband, I am now the boss.  This has a certain appeal.  It is the India doctor.  She is looking for someone for full time permanent.  She interviewed someone who I know would be excellent so we shall see....

.....however, I did manage to take a couple videos & pictures of the sky yesterday.  I love the sky and the hills around here.  Every place has it's appeal and it's non appeal... it is just all in what you focus.  So I am focusing on the beautiful skies and the gorgeous hills, not to mention the three rivers.
