  • Yesterday.....

I worked at the Orthopaedic Office and my doctor has a patient that called.  I talked to this man three times for extended periods.  The problem seems to be that he came for an appointment back in April and asked the doctor if he could golf and doctor said "yes, if it doesn't hurt you".  Well, last week this patient swung his golf club and hit the dirt... a pain shot up his shoulder.  So now he is going to sue the doctor because it is his fault due to the fact that the doctor said it was ok to play golf.  WOW!!!   This patient is demanding free treatment and saying he is not going to pay his bill from April or he will sue.  At the end of our conversation, he asked if I was single!

  • Ok, Here is something old...

  • HAPPY 2nd BirthDay Isaiah

Today is officially the birthday of Isaiah, however we are not celebrating until next week.  This boy wakes at 7:30 and gets out of bed to get his own breakfast.  He likes to eat.  And he is very resourceful.  It scared his mom at first as she would hear him rattling around in the kitchen at 2AM.  You know just getting a little midnight snack at 2AM.  He sort of slept in a little.  I am wishing I would have gotten a picture of him today, but I am off to work in just a few minutes.... Maybe tonight I can get one.  Until then here are some older ones.

  • Joseph & Guests

I got to have Joseph, Carinna, and Isaiah.  It was fun having them, and quite a challenge keeping up with them.  I don't know how Sharalee does it all the time, except she is conditioned.  And she even has four kids all the time.

Here are a couple of videos I shot of Joseph.  He was telling me about dreams he has had.  The first dream he told me about was how God gave him the dream that he was SUPERMAN.  He said he was thinking that God gave him the dream cause he is gonna be SUPERMAN when he grows up.  But I didn't have the camera going at that time and he never told me the same dream twice. So enjoy his other dreams....

We are hosting a couple from Egypt for four days starting this weekend.  This should be very interesting.  He is with "The Voice of the Martyrs".  He has a ministry to Muslims.  I will learn more about them and tell you after they are here and we get to know them.  I pray I can feed them dishes they like.

For now... I must clean the kitchen and go to the store........ hope you enjoyed Joseph's dreams and good night for now.

  • it's Tuesday.......

  • Signs Around The House

Enjoyed last night.  It was fun hostessing those ladies.  They are so much fun to be around.  Ok... now for some pics of signs around here.

These two are on the front porch.

Welcome to Grandpa & Ma's  Spoiled Dog

Our daughter in law, Connie, made the one over the fireplace and the other one is from the 70's.

The sign on the left makes me think of JillCarmel.  It is from the 70's.  The other one was an anonymous gift.

The Slow Grandparents Sign is in our office.  I just really like the other two kid ones.  They are in the kitchen area.

  • TONIGHT

The Pastor's wives and elder's wives are meeting at my house tonight.  We are gonna talk about and plan women's things.  I get to prepare for them today.  That includes chopping off some tree branches and vines this morning so they can get through.  They have gone crazy growing since we trimmed them last, which was only a month or so ago.  This will be the first time these gals have been here since we have paving.

The porch is all torn up since we have to replace the caps.  Tom is thinking concrete!!!  Then I am thinking.. ok, then let's do stone on the sides!  It would look nice I think.  I wonder if I could do it myself???  That would be between working at my new job.    So far my new job has been a very positive experience.  You think it is because of all those people praying for me and my brain?

The weather has been stupendous the last couple of days.... I am loving it.  Gorgeous skies, wonderful smells, refresh feelings.  Thank you Lord!  What an awesome creator you are!!!  Always giving us beautiful or at the least "interesting" things to study whether it be skies, or bugs, or plants, or planets!

Sky Shot 1 7-18-07  Joel's Motor in Entry

This last picture is Joel's creation.  He took an old motor from some Mill in Idaho and had it chromed, powder coat painted, cooper wires all stripped and then built this stand for it.  We let him put it in the entry way just because he is such a sweetie.... but it sure isn't something I would pick for my entry way!   Tom made him shore up the floor underneath cause it is very, very heavy.  It took three guys to move it in there.

  • The New Job

Enjoyed my first day at work.... lots of people work there and it is necessary to punch the clock.  I am not used to that.  I think it was when I worked at the Bon Marche many years ago that I punched a clock.  I have my own desk, and my own doctor.  There are lots of girls that work there, not all of us are "girls" but we are females.  I was practicing names trying to get them all memorized.  Not an easy job, but I'm not doing too bad at it.  Normally I will work on Mondays and Fridays, but I am gonna work tomorrow just for a little training on surgical billing and coding.  The nurse's at that office do the billing for surgical procedures but nothing else.  I haven't done that before.  It will be new for me.   May the Lord grant me a brain like a sponge.

The picture on the left is "my" doctor accepting an award this year and on the right he is in Honduras with a patient after surgery.  An interesting fellow!

Everyone is kind of quiet this summer.  I hope that is a good sign of lots of iced tea, vacations, swimming, and relaxing going on.

  • I start Tomorrow....

...yes, I do start the new job Monday.  I went for the interview with the office manager.  She told me what they need and apparently in her words, I am an answer to their prayers.  It was so interesting.  The doctor, I am going to be helping, has invented a sort of nail to fix broken bones.  He travels all over the world teaching doctors how to use these nails and now actually provides the materials to do these surgeries.  That means I will get vacations often, which is exactly what I need.  The office manager says she thinks that the doctor and me are a good match.  They are even paying me more than I have ever gotten working in this particular field.   (and I didn't even ask)

The office manager also told me the doc is a giving man and likes to help people.  He has been known to take off his shoes at the office and give them to a patient who isn't able to afford to buy his own new shoes.  I wonder if he worked in his stocking feet the rest of the day?    She also said he has been known to treat patients in the parking lot, which they, in the office, frown on....   She said he used to swim across the Columbia River every morning to come to work, but now he just rides his bike work.

Ok... now for the story you have all been waiting for.  JOSIAH's visit.  We have really enjoyed Josiah's visit.  He can blog about the stuff he has done which includes:  games (he learned he is pretty smart, but not very lucky), chasing fires started by lightening, going down to the river, sightseeing, getting hot, fishing, church, laughing, holding a baby... and just hanging out with his Uncle Steve.  Now for some video & pictures.  Truly you can see what a great fellow this fellow is as he is mellow and stays away from yellow, but he does on occasion bellow!!!

PS  I think he misses his sweetie pie.

  • De ja vu

Yesterday I got a call from an Orthopedic office with a request to come to work for one of the doctors there.  It would only be parttime.  So I am on my way this morning to meet with them.  Just yesterday morning I said to the Lord, "Lord, I need a job!"  I like people and either need a job or to go shopping every day.  The call came yesterday afternoon.  That's fast  !!!!  (And I didn't apply for the job either)

I'd give you a picture but no working camera.  However, I bought a new/used camera, just like my old one.    I should get it by Monday.   Sure hope it works as good as my old one used to work before I dropped it on the garage floor.

Thanks Lord.  I can never thank Him enough.

PS  Dejavu, because this has happened to me over and over and over again.  I pray for a job and I get a phone call.  And on a few occasions I have just been in the right place at the right time.  But most of the time, it is a phone call, an unsolicited phone call.

Here is something for you that I think you will find interesting.  It is about Giraffes, Woodpeckers, Boombomber Beetles, etc.  Pretty interesting!!!  Enjoy!
