I got this bright idea to look on Craigs list. I was mainly just curious and didn't even know the web address so I went to my husband's computer because I knew he had looked on Craigslist before. I found it clicked on it. I went to our area and clicked on a selection for people looking for real estate. There was an ad for a room for a visiting professor who teaches at a local college. Well, we have all these empty bedrooms so I thought I would write back. (I checked with my husband first.)
We were on our way to Spokane weekend before last and I had a nudging to check e-mail before we left. (It had been a number of days since I had sent the e-mail.) Anyway, there was an e-mail from the visiting professor and he lives in Spokane. I wrote back and said we were heading to Spokane for the weekend.
On Sunday morning we were heading to Starbucks, when he called. I told him where we were heading and he said he lived close to there and would come over and buy us a latte. We were waiting outside visiting with the kids checking each guy out who came but I realized I didn't know what to look for really. I mean, "what does a professor look like?" I have known a few and they were pretty ordinary looking people. Ok... so finally I call his number to ask what to look for and he says, "are you standing outside in a brown sweater?" And I said "yes". He said he was inside watching us.... somehow I missed him anyway we had a good visit. He teaches at a branch campus right by the hospital and next to where I work.
Last week he came here and picked out his room. Next Monday will be his first night to stay with us. He teaches Medical Ultrasound. Sounds interesting!!! This is my story for the day.
Here is a close-up of Andrew when we were up in Spokane for his 18th birthday party.
