  • Home again……. so nice to be back.  The trip had some nice experiences.  Visited some neighbors/friends from the 70′s.  They had us over for dinner.  They live in Surprise, AZ.  It was a very good time.  We also got to visit our cousins who live only 3 minutes from Uncle Doug.  That was a good time also.  We took Uncle Doug on two drives for sight seeing.  Got him a milkshake, which is his favorite.  Took some pictures for your viewing pleasure.  See below.

Below is a song that plays in my heart frequently.  We bought it in Israel last month.  May it play in your heart also, enjoy!

I heard a quote this morning that really blessed me and helped a lot.  It was this, “God is the only one who can break something and make it more valuable!”.  He breaks us inorder to increase our value.  How awesome is that!?!?!?!?

  • I’m going to have to write that down.  I ‘ve never heard that and it is so true.  Wait, Mia Farrow’s autobiography is called Stronger in the broken places or something like that.

Well, I don’t think Ulce Doug is wanting for anything -do you?  it is beautiful there and I’ve been there a bunch of times since I have family in Scottsdale and my son was stationed at Fort Huachucha back in the early 90′s

  • @jillcarmel - Yes, he has everything physically needed… just not loving family nearby.

  • maybe it is good for him to have the change of scenery

my brother John was in Scottsdale the other day and he went back to L.A. saturday. Did you see him with his duck Splash? he was in Laughlin for a gun convention thing with other law officers to get his lisc. to carry his gun in all 50 states.

  • @AuntieKathy - nothing liike loving family is there?

  • Great pictures, glad you had a good time with your friends…ryc, Arielle means Lioness of God….her name fits!

    Blessings to you,

    Mike

  • @xThexGodfatherx - Did you like the song?  It grows on you and then plays in your heart which is nice.

  • Glad you are home…looking forward to hearing all about your trip.

  • @FooFrater - yes, maybe on May 2nd???  The longer we live the more we appreciate our wonderful kids and spouses… we are very, very blessed.  Love you

  • Welcome home. It’s nice you had a good trip. It seems now you and Tom can rest easier about the whole situation. Love you and miss you.

  • It looks like a very nice place. Do you feel better about Uncle Doug?

  • @xThexGodfatherx -  Let me know if it plays in your heart!

  • read your story on Gloria’s site, just stopped by to say hi

  • @illgrindmyownthankyou - I tried to visit you back… but it said you have on friends lock… boo hoo!  I hope you get my message.

  • Those bent palms remind me of trees I’ve seen high in the mountains that are bent from heavy snowfall.  These in this case probably have a different cause.

  • @blogdad - I think you are right about it being something other than heavy snow fall…. I have no idea what it might be though and there were numerous trees in twos bending away and then towards each other in various places.  Interesting!

  • my guess is that the wind toppled them a bit when they were young, then as the grew, they did so straight up from their current top just like palm trees do.  There’s probably a spiritual implication in there somewhere explaing why some of us might have a bend in our middle too.
