  • Need Rest??? and More Old Pictures

Was visiting with a friend this morning, named Lisa.  She suggested I put this in my blog for today.  For Rest:  Crawl up on God’s altar and die!   (Notice Altar, Alter??  Hmmmm)

“Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That’s the most sensible way to serve God.” (Rom 12:1) CEV

Of course, you all know it means to die to yourself; die to having your own way, etc.  Then He will lift you up and you will have rest for your soul by the power of His Holy Spirit.  I am talking mostly to myself.

Here’s a few more pics to view while you are busy dying there.  Mostly pictures of kids.  The very last one is Tom’s grandma & her sister.  I think it is really special.

  • My favorite is the picture of the little boy with the spiked helmet.

  • dear Kathy, you are a hoot. I will alter me self.

I like the photos of the kids -they are so sweet.  I think some of my photos didn’t look that much different. I will have to post one.

  • I love your old pictures!

  • What great pictures.  :)

  • Am lovin’ these pictures!  I think that way back then all young girls had those HUGE bows in their hair.  I think I have a couple pics like that of distant relatives.  One thing I noticed was all the guns!!  I have a lot of old pictures, but guess none of my ancestors were hunters—no guns!  lol  I also like the last two “comin’ and goin’ pictures!  Cute.

Do you have names for everyone??  I don’t know who a lot of people are in my old pics.  Wish my mother and father had put names and dates on the backs of them!

  • @mimiwi - I know almost none of these people.  These pictures came from that distant cousin we only met once, who had no siblings, and never married so had no offspring.  Someone called us about 10 years ago when he died and wondered if we wanted the pictures.  We just recently got them out and found only a few people we ever knew.  But I love them anyway.  I was surprised at how many times they took pictures of people from behind.  I was thinking of starting a new trend of doing that.

  • Love the old collection…especially that old German helmet!
