Everytime I drive by this place I think of....
(See EDIT below)
...Jill Carmel...
.....so today I finally stopped and snapped this picture. I have never been inside this store, at least not yet. But it really feels good to do something I have wanted to do for over a year.
EDIT: For those of you who don't know, the thing I wanted to do for over a year is: I wanted to stop and get a picture of this place for Jill Carmel for over a year... just to clarify! Don't worry Mom!

Where is this place?
lol lol lol I like it!!!!!! you might get arrested if you go in there or get high from the fumes. That is a Head Shop for real live hippies.
If I went inside, I might be inclined to ask the owners, "What year is it?" I've been known to do that when encountering anachronisms. And this is ceratinly one. I wonder what the answer would be?
@blogmom - It is in Richland, WA. Across the street is the Columbia River.... nice!
@jillcarmel - really? I mean you are not kidding about it being a head shop? This is on a road that runs alongside the Columbia River and is close to shops and offices of a new variety.
@blogdad - Maybe I will go in and ask that question!
@AuntieKathy - what do you think they smoke in those pipes?
@jillcarmel - I just figured it was souvenirs or something.... I don't know. It is still illegal here to smoke pot! But there may be a medical provision...
I am sitting here floored -- Jill and Kathy know each other????? Whooo! I am experiencing a moment of the past and the now just smacking together. Neat!
@AuntieKathy -it's not legal here either in Texas.
I remember seeing that place. Ahem. We sped by it...chuckles. Hi Kathy. I'm out here too and I see Zvanoizu left you a note...that's the daughter. *g* Have a great weekend!!
They wouldn't advertise their real goods, or have them out on display. And they would swear to you that their pipes and hookahs are for tobacco use only, as with their rolling papers perhaps. But get to know the owners real well and I would not be surprised at all if a whole new "aisle" of merchandise would become available.
There are a number of these sorts of places. They get shut down periodically because they get sloppy with who they let in that "special aisle"
I worked in a head shop in my youth. We were not allowed to say the word "marijuana" and our customers were discouraged from using it. What was smoked in the pipes was called "smoking mixture".
