  • Love

If you want to know the history of Valentine's Day in a nutshell you can visit Randy777's Page.  Interesting!!!

    Here is the link: http://www.xanga.com/Randy7777/642319696/valentines-day.html

"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends."  John 15:12-13

Tonight we have friends over.  An opportunity to love again.  May the Lord teach me to love like He loves.  Bless and love you my Xanga family and friends!

  • A Valentine's Day Joke:

Every Friday after work, a physicist goes down to the ice cream parlor, sits in the second-to-last seat, turns to the last seat, which is empty, and asks a girl, who isn't there, if he can buy her an ice cream cone. The owner, who is used to the weird local university types, always shrugs but keeps quiet. But when Valentine's Day arrives, and the physicist makes a particularly heart-wrenching plea into empty space, curiosity gets the better of him, and he says, "I apologize for my stupid question, but surely you know there is NEVER a woman sitting in that last stool, man. Why do you persist in offering ice cream to an empty space?"

The physicist replies, "Well, according to quantum physics, empty space is never truly empty. Virtual particles come into existence and vanish all the time. You never know when the proper wave function will collapse and a girl might suddenly appear there."

The owner raises his eyebrows. "Really? Interesting. But couldn't you just ask one of the girls who comes here every Friday if you could buy HER a cone? Never know -- she might say yes."

The physicist laughs. "Yeah, right. How likely is THAT to happen?"  (shared from GCFL)

  • Another Day..

Yesterday was a very cool day.  Not temperature wise but for example I found exactly the kind of binders I prayed for and the exact number I needed!  The sun was out!  We got to go to friends for dinner, special show and cards last night!  It seemed like I got a handle on all the stuff I need to get done around here.  It was GOOD!  It was just one of those days when things seem to go right for a change, or maybe I should say go "my way" for a change!    Thank you Lord!  Thank you very, very much!

  • Pray for........

....Uncle Doug.  He has lost his wife of 58 years and he will be moved soon.  May he end up where the Lord wants him and no place else, in Jesus name.  PS I want him!   Here is his picture from just 2 weeks ago:

On Another Note:  I took this video clip of this guy we were following in Seattle last weekend.  He is sitting in the trunk of the car holding a big box that says "Winnie the Pooh" on it.  He finally waves but not until the stop sign.  It is one minute long.... enjoy, we did.

  • We made it........

It was great getting to see the young marrieds at their new apartment.  Here is a little video clip.

We made it home safely over the pass.  Here are a bunch of pictures I took on our side of the Mountains.

You can see in the pictures below that the road was dry over here, but very wet up there in the Mountains.

  • Aunt Norma

The Lord took her home yesterday morning.  She had a peaceful death.  Uncle Doug spent time with her before she died and then alone with her after.  She will be missed a lot.  We have cancelled our trip down there today.  Will probably head down to be with Uncle Doug next week.  I kept thinking about Uncle Doug in the middle of the night.  Trying to figure out ways to care for him.  Then I dreamt about Norma's red memory button on her phone.  I don't know why.

I am at my mom's in Everett Washington and borrowing her computer.  When I got on here I noticed my last entry was changed to "private".  So I fixed it, but I don't know why it was marked private.  Maybe someone thought Tom wearing my pink rose socks should be kept "private".

The mountains passes have been closed so getting home could be a bit of an ordeal.  Lord knows we need to get home.

  • Men.... edit

edit:  Can't tell you how many people have requested a picture.   Ok, I can...that's right, absolutely no one!  So here it is anyway.  PS at bottom

    Socks

Last night, right after Uncle Tom came home from work.  He was sitting on the couch when I walked by (with something delicious to nibble on, I presume, as that part is all a big blur today, but that would be my usual habit).  Anyway, he crosses his legs, lifts up his pant leg and says in a somewhat stern voice, "what's this?"

"Socks........", I said with some hesitation cause it seemed like a weird question and not like Uncle Tom at all.  He suggested I look closer, as the lights were dimmed.  When I moved closer I saw black socks with little pink baby roses on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Apparently "somebody" put my socks in his drawer and he accidentally grabbed them in such a hurry so that he didn't notice the feminine baby pink roses until later while at work.  Undoubtably he was in a meeting when it came out.  I promised to be more careful in the future.

Then we had a good laugh together!!!!

PS  We are heading to Seattle tonight.  Possibly on to Napa on Saturday, as Norma has taken a turn for the worse.  Prayers appreciated.

  • Now You Can Compare

Can you tell a difference?  The first video is low or normal resolution and the second on is high resolution or "tv" resolution.  Let me know what you think?

  • Hockey, Meet in Unfinished Building, Superbowl... WOW!!!

The hockey game was really fun.  I enjoyed going so much I think I understand why people go all the time.  I have some video.  I upped the quality.  I wonder if you will notice.  It does make it a bigger file... well, we will just have to see.

Sunday, we  drove in the snowy, snowy weather to the muddy, muddy future parking lot... took our lawn chairs into the unfinished building with over a thousand other people for an awesome worship time in our new building that is very unfinished.  After service we all got to mark on the floor and studs with permanent markers.  I wrote:

    Man

    Ship...!

    Eph 2:10

...on a stud in the entry.  It was a really skinny stud.  (Darn, I should have taken a picture.)      Next time!

Picture below of everyone... see how unfinished it is?

The picture above was taken from the balcony visible in the picture below.   I had to climb up there part way on a ladder.

  • TGIF Again

Today is the third Friday off  for Uncle Tom.  We set out early to get lots of stuff done, but by noon decided we might as well have had our latte at home, sitting beside the fire and watching some news.    At least we got lots of information.    We went to Costco.    We got a bid on painting the Fleetwood.  Oh well, it's just money!!!  Auntie Caryn is in Napa with Aunt & Uncle.  That is nice she is there.  Well, I am sort of just talking about things... so I guess I will go back and join Uncle Tom.  He is watching Northwest Passage from 1940.  It is kind of brutal.  I think I like comedies & some love stories best.  Some mysteries are enjoyable too!  Killing and stuff isn't my favorite thing to watch even if it is true.  I was very blessed to watch The Passion movie.  I wasn't looking forward to going, but I felt so tremendously inspired and blessed by watching it.  It was indeed a privilege.  Ok... I talk to you all later... have an awesome weak-end, oh heck...............just go ahead have a strong-end instead!
